Twaylian: Lightning Sorceress Mariella

Let me introduce you my very own closed species, the Twaylians! This means "star children" in their language. The legend says that their ancestors came into the world on a shooting star. Nobody knows whether it's true, however, all of them have star marks on their forehead. Can be up to five for the rarest kinds.

This girl's name is Mariella and she can control electricity, as you can see. Her tails are quite short for a Twaylian (they're sure that size matters ), that's why she finds them ugly and wears big and long skirts all the time, to cover them up. 

I wanted to make an adopt out of her, but then I fell gradually in love with her and now I cannot think of selling her. Maybe for a really high price, though...  


Actually, I'm still working on them, so I thought it may be a good idea to show you a prototype to know your opinions, before I'll do a proper info sheet . The Twaylians are very shortsighted, but they cannot wear glasses or contact lenses. Instead, they have three pair of ears (and two tails, btw). Their ears are very useful: the biggest ones are for regular sounds, and a Twaylian can hear both distant and near, loudest and faintest sounds clearly at the same time and concentrate easily on one of them, if needed. The second pair is for ultrasound and suchlike. The third pair is for their own method of communication, which involves a mix of telepathy and sounds that a human ear cannot perceive.

They can be male and female and breed with humans and other races. All of them have multicoloured hair, although the number of colours increases with the rarity of the species. Some can have multicoloured eyes, too. Wings and horns are not very common and are mostly signs of an ancestor of another species/race.

And every Twaylian has some kind of magic from birth. They can perfect it over time, but they cannot change it or learn something else additionally. This means, if a Twaylian is a fire mage, he'll stay one for a lifetime.
